I am a senior at Urban Prep - Englewood. Over my past 3 years here, I wouldn't really say I enjoyed my time here. Academics are not that good and the school lacks diversity and school spirit. One thing I can say is there are very strong bonds in between the students and in my opinion that's what makes Urban Prep - Englewood a unique school.

What I liked About my school was they made me feel like I was home. The basketball team was great and I got a chance to feel what high school was all about. It is a all boy school so it did cancel out distractions and what have not.

Urban Prep is an amazing school that teach African-American males that motivates them to became young men. From my years being at that school I see changes in myself in peers becoming young adults. Urban Prep has a lot of sports and extracurricular activities, even during the virus. This school is an life changer. The only thing I would change is the timing . It is a lot of school work, but I can get used to it.

Poor.. incompetent leadership, throwing around of unearned power. They remind me of Chicago cops who know there’s a fellow officer out of line but will not speak up.

To refer to it as a school, or Academy for that matter is a huge over statement. It's more like a Juvenile detention center. There are fights everyday, there is m...
