Riverside Elementary is a public school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District located in the northeast section of the Kamm's Corners neighborhood. The goal for students in pre-K through eighth grade at Riverside is to develop responsibility, think critically and creatively and make positive contributions to society. The vision is to provide student-centered, inclusion-based educational practices that seamlessly incorporate technology, the arts, health and fitness. Sports offered to students include basketball, track and field, volleyball and soccer. Model United Nations, chess, Bridge and Student Leadership Council are examples of extracurriculars that the school offers. Riverside hosts field trips that may include going to the zoo, the aquarium, downtown and Washington, D.C. To round out the Riverside students' education, numerous partnerships with members of the community help provide tutoring, mentoring, music education and theater programming opportunities. Riverside earned a Bronze Award for being one of America's healthiest schools by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. The school achieved this by participating in the Cleveland YMCA's We Run This City program, with about 50 students running a 10K as part of the most recent Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon race. Eleven teachers attended a workshop to promote physical activity, including classroom brain breaks which also contributed to this distinction.

It's a beautiful new school in the middle of a quiet neighborhood which is quite appealing but the teachers, administration, and fellow parents are a complete joke. My son is in the advanced class and his teacher sends home a weekly letter t...
