In 2021, the Acflora High School football team (Falcons) showcased a season filled with determination and growth. Here are some highlights and key points from their performance: ### Season Overview - **Team Spirit **: The Acflora team (Falcons) demonstrated strong camaraderie and resilience throughout the season. Their ability to support each other on and off the field was evident, contributing to a positive team environment. - **Coaching**: Under the guidance of their coaching staff, players developed both individually and as a unit. The strategies employed were effective in enhancing their gameplay and adapting to opponents. ### Performance Highlights - **Key Matches**: The team had several standout performances against tough competitors. Their ability to secure victories in critical matches showcased their skill and tenacity. Conclusion I enjoyed that my son Omar Shangab was part of a winning team in 2021. AC Flora Falcons I just wished the school had halal food choice options.

The faculty are very enthusiastic about preparing students for college. The school offers the IB Program, AP courses, and Honors level courses. Most of the teachers are decent at their jobs. Safety in the district has improved a lot, in recent years they have closed off the public from easily entering the school with large fences and metal detectors.

Overall, Flora has been a good experience. When I started my freshman year, it was in the middle of COVID and so we did online learning most of the year. I wish we could go back and have had a normal year as I think we missed out on clubs and other activities that would have made for a more fun experience. I also missing having one lunch period to hang out with friends and have club events. I'd like to see that changed. I'd also like to see more attention paid to sports other than football and baseball. I do really like the IB program and am glad I have had the chance to do that.

My oldest daughter is finishing up her freshman year at A.C. Flora and we have been very impressed with the school. As an honors student, she's continued to be challenged and excel. The IB and theatre arts programs are outstanding. This is a top public high school in a great neighborhood.

I am most proud of the way the current principal, Richard McClure strives to focus on all students not just those in AP/IB programs.
