GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I didn't participate in many extracurriculars, but I know they are dozens of ways for students to get involved. From FBLA to ALANHS. Newton definitely offers a lot of ways to be involved in school. I think there is a lot of opportunities to learn about post-secondary plans. They are constantly events going on and the counselors provide a lot of information. The biggest grievance I have is the number of lockdowns. It seems like there one at least once a month. That aspect could definitely be improved.

My first year as a freshman Covid made it so that we all worked from home. I have friends that I graduated with that I will probably have for life. I enjoyed my classes that prepared me for real life situations. My mom also enjoyed a lot of the recipes I learned in class!

I personally didn't go in to the school to learn but it was my based school there to help me when I needed it. And there was little help. Due to me not really being their problem. They need to reach out to students who are trying and push the ones who need pushing. Then the school can give students hope and support.

This school is horrible. Does not care for none of their students unless they are athletes. hints on why this school is only recognize for its sport teams. Horrible staff members that do not care about students' wellbeing or education. I would not recommend this school unless you are a d1 or d2 athl...

Excellent faculty, but students feel entitled if they have even some intelligence. Unfortunately, solving problems with violence seems the norm for most of the kids and of course, phones out to record it no matter how badly someone is being hurt!

Newton high school is very organized, and have SOME great teachers but the way they handle things with fights and bullying is not great at all. For me..I take bullying serious. I will not let someone just sit there an hit me and push me around. I will fight back, which is called defense. you can tel...

I am currently an enrolled student at Newton High School. I will be going to the Newton College and Career Acadamy for my sophomore year though. I didn't enjoy my Freshaman year at all because of the lack of support from the teachers, staff and students. Majority of the students could care less abou...
