The Edward Titche Elementary is a public school in Dallas that has transformed from a low-performing campus that once was at risk of closure to being nationally recognized for excellence. In 2020, the school was designated as a Blue Ribbon School, a national program that annually honors exemplary public and private schools based on performance. The Edward Titche Elementary School credits the Dallas Independent School District’s Accelerated Campus Excellence initiative program for helping to remake the school beginning in 2017. The program incentivizes high-performing teachers and campus leaders to work, voluntarily, at low-performing schools and focuses on data-driven instruction to fuel better student outcomes. The Edward Titche Elementary School, part of the Dallas Independent School District, serves students prekindergarten through fifth grade. About 682 students are enrolled in the school, and the student-teacher ratio is 16 to 1. Nearly half of the students score at or above the proficient level for math, and 43% scored at or above the level for reading. The school, located in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood, has a diverse student body and about 47% of its students are enrolled in bilingual and English language learning programs. Students are required to wear school uniforms. The school includes social and emotional development programming in small group settings and urges a quest for student excellence—which is presented within its school crest--that centers on student leadership, perseverance, respect and self-discipline.

Staff needs to worry about the wellbeing of the student and not the parent. As long as the child is doing remarkably, don’t worry about the parent. Keep your comments to yourself. Be professional and respectful. There should be a meeting held for the staff of how to conduct themselves while dealing...

Kinder teachers are completely unengaged during educational assembly programs. Instead of paying attention to the assembly speaker so that they can later reinforce learning points, the teachers spend the entire assembly time talking between themselves, texting or playing games on their cell phones....

My son's teacher, in agreement with the asst principal sent my special needs son home because of behavior issues. They didn't suspend him, they just wanted me to come pick him up as if this was a daycare. It didn't matter that my son was already in special education for speech & was being evaluated...
