The North Dallas High School, built in 1922, is one of the oldest standing high school buildings in Dallas. It is located just outside of downtown in the Oak Lawn area. The public school serves grades ninth through 12th and is part of the Dallas Independent School District. Rusk and Spence Middle schools feed into North Dallas High School. Students receive a culturally rich education and are urged to explore and design solutions to real-world problems throughout their academics. About 42% of the student body takes part in Advanced Placement coursework for accelerated learning opportunities. Students also have ample opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities and competitive sporting teams. The school serves more than 1,100 students. A mural depicting a Looney Tunes character is featured in a hall of the main school building that honors one of the school’s famous alumni Tex Avery, class of 1927, who is credited for creating Daffy Duck and many elements of Bugs Bunny. In 2010, the school held a competition inviting students to draw a Looney Tunes mural on the walls. The winner was selected to design the school’s new Bulldog mascot, what has become a mainstay image in representing the North Dallas High School.

Overall North Dallas High School is an average school from my perspective, I feel as if we do slightly above average academically. I just wish the school culture level was higher also wish it was a little more safer

This school isn't perfect, and many students may misbehave, but there is genuine care from many of the teachers, staff, and administrators that work there. They want everyone to succeed and push students to be better each day.

They are so kind and welcoming. Always willing to help and motivate their students. I never had a problem there. You can tell the staff loves their job, and I'm so glad to be a student there. But its the school lunch for me. I am sure they can do better lol, no judgement.
