Well known in the Urbandale-Parkdale neighborhood for innovative programs, Urban Park Elementary School proudly challenges each student to perform at their potential to achieve excellence.
Located at 6901 Military Parkway, just east of downtown Dallas, the school serves 534 students, pre-K through 5th grade, with a 15-1 student-teacher ratio. Ranking average in academics, the administration has programs in place to improve outcomes on a continual basis. One program is the “2-Way Dual Language Program,” where students are encouraged to embrace being bi-lingual as a strong basis for being prepared in a global economy. “Saddle Up for Success” is another program where academic skills are reinforced, including introducing ethics for students to contribute to the world in a positive way. The school also supports a gifted and talented program.
Urban Park prides itself on parent involvement with many opportunities to volunteer. After school programs inspire whole family participation in the learning process. In addition, soccer games on the field, annual talent shows, celebrations of Cinco de Mayo, and free movie nights for the families bring this close-knit community together.
With a mission to enforce positive academic and social skills daily, the goal of Urban Park is to develop young students who will make a positive impact in the world. The motto, “Every scholar, every day, no excuses!” reverberates in the halls, classrooms, playgrounds, and on the soccer field. This is the spirit of Urban Park Elementary encouraging students, parents and teachers to be the best they can be.
