Kepner Beacon Middle School is a member of Denver Public Schools, serving 392 students in grades six through eight. As part of the Beacon Network, the school offers the flexibility of a charter school with the trust and oversight of a public school district. Because the school serves students from diverse backgrounds and cultures, it promotes instruction in English Language Development and Spanish Language Arts. Building on the varying cultural and community norms, the students and their families celebrate the differences and diversity within the community. The four pillars-blended learning, critical thinking, character development, and enrichment opportunities-were developed as the foundation for the curriculum. Each student’s potential is maximized by meeting the student at their starting point. Kepner Beacon Middle School implements critical thinking concerning self and others and expands the possibilities through exposure, reflection, and experiences within a dynamic, engaging, comprehensive learning environment. Blended learning is implemented by intentionally partnering instructional classroom time with ongoing access to technology. Student exposure to enrichment opportunities beyond the traditional academics includes classes in five unique categories: S.T.E.M, Health & Athletics, Arts & Culture, Leadership, and Academics. Character development starts with students tasked with displaying a solid commitment to behaviors that reflect leadership, perseverance, integrity, curiosity, and kindness. Through critical thinking and analysis, inquiry, and evaluation, students discover the importance of utilizing factual information to develop a solid argument, draw a thoughtful conclusion, or resolve a complex issue.

Honestly, As a parent I find these other reviews hilariously ridiculous. One review is from a parent who cares enough about their student to leave a bad review but not enough to help them dress according to the rules, the other two are from parents who are obviously disengaged from the school and ar...

I’m very unhappy with this school for many reasons. I overall don’t like the professionalism of the leader ship at this school especially with students. My child tells me the principal tells students to shut up during detention.

I sent my child to this school with high expectations. Kepner seemed like a really good school when I went to the school expo, And the staff seemed really nice when I went to tour the school. When my child went to this school in 6th grade School was remote, And now that they are back in school I’m d...
