GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Dunellen has small class sizes so if a student needs assistance, the majority of the teachers make themselves available. What would be an improvement would be to diversify the teaching staff to mirror the demographics of the area, and to provide more courses that align to future business needs for students who are doing a college preparatory curriculum.

Dunellen has limited resources which tends to give students a disadvantage when it comes time to apply for colleges. While it's great for developing relations with teachers and getting valuable recommendation letters, some teachers are not good which can all but rule out taking their classes.

Dunellen high school was alright, it's a small town so everyone knows each other. I think it's a place where you can really feel at home. Some changes I would like to see are some upgrades in the building.

My eldest was having issues with Math or at least at the “blue ribbon” school. She is excelling, her confidence is nothing like I’ve seen befor...
