GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It was ok, the higher education versions of classes were great but the normal classes did not help prepare me for college level classes.

The teachers were exceptionally great. They really cared about each and every student and helped them as much as possible with learning. The school spirit was amazing as well and there are so many sports and activities to be a part of.

Definitely not a bad school, but it has many flaws. Black students get punished harsher than other groups, remote students during the pandemic have been put on the back-burner, and Dunlap is currently discussing the possibility of cutting the arts. The opinions of students and teachers (people who are actually in the school everyday) are not considered and cared about as much as the opinions of people on the school board. This has been frustrating for many.

Graduated here in 2017. Very mixed feelings about this school: - met some of my best friends here- teachers were mostly nice and reasonable (some bad ones though)- the occasional fight in the lunchroom and hallways- was not prepared for college whatsoever, had no help in deciding a major or what I w...

One of the best rated public schools in the state. Teachers communicate very well, it is a two way street. Both of my sons graduated from Dunlap as well as myself. People want to drop off their kids and have everything taken care of for them, doesn’t work that way, it starts at home. Both well prepa...

My kids graduated from DHS in the late 90s. One of them did great and one barely graduated. The one who did great would have excelled anywhere; they fit the model of what DHS wants and supports in a student. They took advantage of the advanced classes and even earned college credit while still in hi...

Horrible drug and bullying problems. Terrible teachers. I suggest you send your children elsewhere.
