GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Columbia has been enjoyable, to say the least. We have a lot of clubs and activities in our school which means anyone could probably find an activity to do after school. All of the teachers I've had were very supporting of whatever your future endeavors may be and I have some teachers I would want to stay in contact with after I leave Columbia to just tell them how I'm doing and to see how they are as well.

Lack of diversity within the school, good teachers for the most part, and I received a great education overall.

I hate school, but in the grand scheme of things, CHS is a pretty good high school in the Capital Region. The academics are good, many classes are offered, the building is nice, and the teachers are great. There are also many sports and clubs offered here, but don't expect the football team to win often.

Until 4th quarter, my child had only 1 virtual class a day. 2 days a week were worksheets and pre-made videos, half of which had such poor quality the board could no...

I have 2 kids who have been students at Columbia. There is a mix of good and bad teachers and a mix of great and terrible administrators. Their special education program is very supportive, and much better than at the elementary school. Luckily some of the more disinterested teachers have retired re...

It is interesting to note that, in the school comparisons, the students rated Columbia below Rensselaer, but in every category of Regents test scores, Columbia far outshines Rensselaer
