GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I have been going to Northampton High School for 4 years and attending during COVID. This school is one of the best in our region and has a very strong arts program for band and choir and has recently revived the Northampton Marching Band.

Our school has needed to be torn down and replaced for decades. They just keep putting patches on it. The teachers and students do the best they can in an outdated facility. It doesn't even qualify as a storm shelter anymore it is so bad. We live on a strip of land between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean and have no storm shelter in our county. The county does have a state of the art jail and courthouse now though. I wish that people put our school first.

The teachers there listened, and tried to help whenever need be. This school offered advanced placement courses, too. When they couldn't offer those courses in class, they made it so that we could take it online. Not only that, but they tried to let the students dictate what they really wanted to take. During my last year, the principal worked as hard as he could to make this a place where the students wanted to be in. He allowed the students to have fun when they could,

This school kind of sucks. The environment is bad and teachers aren't really doing anything, and so are parents. As a current student, I myself want to go to a different school. But this is also a public school, so of course your experience won't be the best. Roaches roam the hallways, kids get into...

Very rural school district. Country folk who will end up working on the water if anything. Everyone else moves away and leaves the shore for college, or to run a business.
