Welcome to Central Elementary, home of the Cheetahs! Built in 1938, Central prides itself on being a true neighborhood public school. Located in the heart of Escondido, the school partners with local institutions for enriching activities, and most students live conveniently within walking distance. Central Elementary prides itself on a strong core curriculum and unique extracurriculars. Through the Enrichment Academy Program, nearly 300 students participate in after school activities from dance and art to robotics, tennis, cooking and more. And longstanding partnerships with the California Center for the Arts and the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy mean students can participate in field trips that bring art and ecology to center stage, providing a well-rounded, global education. Current renovations at Central Elementary are bringing new preschool and kindergarten complexes and playgrounds, allowing the school to expand services and welcome even more students. Already, though, Central offers ample green spaces, sports fields, and blacktop courts to keep students engaged in physical wellbeing alongside academics. With a long history, rich cultural diversity, and dynamic community presence, Central Elementary is a truly unique school in the middle of all that Escondido has to offer.

My child will not return to this school. They are behind other schools in the area. My daughter has said that the teacher was often rude to students and she wasn't very friendly to me either. They don't seem to make parent teacher relations a priority either and the staff always seem too busy to be...

I am very satisfied with the education that my children are receiving at Central. The teachers are friendly, and caring. There is a lot of technology happening at Central. There are mini-iPads, I-pods, a full computer lab, and all classrooms have computers in them. My child teaches me things on the...

Lack of respect towards parents is not a joke or something to take lightly. It's disappointing to to see that the staff would rather speak to this other parent this way instead of mediating a solution. I see why the parent is angry. I won't be enrolling my kids here, the test score alone are bad.

Do you notice how the bad reviews are by the same parent? lol! I am a volunteer and for many years I had witnessed how people who cannot resolve their own issues will always find and project their frustration to others. In this case, Central school staff, teachers and principal apparently are the on...
