Dawes Elementary School focuses on emotionally, socially and academically educating the whole child. They emphasize integrity, self-awareness and empathy in the classroom, and to encourage caregiver involvement, Dawes Elementary invites parents to share a 20-minute recess or lunch break with their child during the day.
With a student-to-teacher ratio of 12-to-1, Dawes' students are provided with a solid learning environment. According to GreatSchools, math and reading assessments indicate Dawes' students are making significant academic progress yearly.
Students are given a core curriculum of social studies, math, science and reading with extracurricular activities like band, choir, orchestra, music theory, the visual arts and drama. The Dawes Two-Way Immersion program also provides them with bilingual instruction in Spanish and English.
The school has athletic programs, such as football, basketball and track and field.
