Farmington Central High School was founded as the Farmington Alternative Academy in 1991 and eventually housed in Farmington Community School. Farmington Central High School ensures students successfully obtain a high school diploma and reach their personal post-graduation goals. Providing students with smaller class sizes and a flexible, responsive curriculum, Farmington Central High School is able to meet the unique learning needs of each student it serves. Farmington Central High School allows students to pursue work experience and independent study for high school credit, but also offers guidance towards attending college and other higher learning institutions. Operating on a mission to provide students with a "supportive and caring learning environment," Farmington Central High School strives to help students realize their highest potential to become "lifelong learners" in a "rapidly changing world." Farmington Central High School's red and white Cougars are fearless scholars and enjoy extracurricular and athletic opportunities to develop leadership skills and form positively reinforcing relationships. I just wish there were more extra curricular activities that can be done at the school instead of going to Farmington High School, Harrison High School, or North Farmington High School.
