GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I think one of the best things about the school is that the teachers are very approachable and friendly. They helped me feel comfortable with the curriculum and the school when I moved to the USA in my Freshman year. As soon as I got comfortable with all of my classes, I observed that most of my teachers had their own unique way of teaching the syllabus and all of them were effective to me. One thing I would definitely like to see a change in is more information sessions on the College process and everything else related to it because I find it rather difficult to gather all the information about it with my parents. I don't know if the information that I have right now is going to help me get into a good college so it would be really helpful if there are more sessions held by the school that help me with the whole process and the necessary steps that need to be taken by students like me. Then I would be more confident about my life after high school here in the United States.

While the community of students and teachers at American High School is amazing, the administration is awful. They don't seem to care for the students whatsoever, and rather prioritize their own business ahead of students.

The campus should be bigger, and the education system is okay. The field is not very good and the bathrooms are not nice, but some teachers are nice.

My son entered freshman in American during Covid. It was a difficult time for a lot of his friends doing remote learning but American High School tried their best to accomodate my son and support him. He struggled in the beginning and we were honetly frustrated but realized that the whole remote lea...

my experience at AHS has been stressful and disappointing. the only reason that i am not giving it a one-star is because i genuinely have made some good friends and good memories through some clubs and programs, and there are a few teachers that i loved, but the worst part of the school is the staff...

This school really sucks. This school is too competitive and wants to be Mission San Jose really badly. Fremont culture nowadays is prioritizing education over the wellbeing of us students. Do not let the test scores fool you, kids are miserable here. You cannot succeed here unless you are wealthy a...
