The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Despite the four years flying by so quickly, I had my share of ups and downs, but it's high school, who hasn't? I didn't really get a feel for the school until sophomore year because my freshmen year was online. It wasn't fun having to wait so long, but I'd say it was worth it. I met a lot of amazing friends there and I wish all my friends still there the best of luck. I had a couple teachers who were interesting, to put it nicely, but I ended on good terms with them, so that's all I could ask for. I only wish I met a lot of my friends sooner rather than later.

Mission San Jose High School has a very competitive student body. Personally I have felt immense peer pressure to take more APs and harder classes which is a feeling shared by many of my classmates. The best part about MSJ would have to be the Homecoming and Multicultural events and the overall school spirit on display during those weeks.

Decent school. Students are very nice, but the teachers vary in teaching levels. Good luck if you go here.

However, the school itself plays essentially no part in making this happen. I have been attending Mis...
