In 2016 McKinley Elementary was selected from hundreds of schools across the country to receive a grant from Leader.org, a private grant-making charity dedicated to providing programs and services that develop students’ leadership skills and character in K-12 schools nationwide. McKinley Elementary is entering the 4th year of implementation of The Leader in Me, FranklinCovey’s whole-school that provides our school with the vision and language to lead the school in a way that addresses all areas of development. Teachers and staff at McKinley have had the opportunity to receive training in the 7 Habits that is the foundation for The Leader in Me
