GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall I like the school, I don't like some teachers though. But it is always to be expected in literary any school. There will always be a few people or teacher that you don't like. There are some rules that I don't like in the school and since these are rules, the teachers and all the adults and faculties on campus follow them. There are of course the good, understanding, and chill teachers that let you slide with not following the rules sometimes. And this is good. There should always be these kind and understanding teachers that understand that school is just a place to learn and not a place to be boring and feeling like a prison where all you have to do is to follow the rules and do what you are told. And plus everyone did it as kids, including the teachers themselves when they were in our shoes. Overall I like the school.

I have had an amazing experience so far attending Herbert Hoover High School, from making friends to getting good grades. I have always felt very close to all my teachers and as if I could talk to them about anything or ask them for help in any aspect. Our student culture is also very nice as we have a lot of school spirit and a lot of ASB involvement. I would definitely recommend this school to everyone.

My time at Herbert Hoover High School was a journey for sure. I started strong and everything was as good as it could be. The one downside was that Covid hit and I lost half of my freshman year and my whole sophomore year.

Hoover High School fosters division and intolerance among ethnic groups by politicizing the campus and punishing students who challenge the status quo. This has been my experience as a parent of a student at the school, and alumni. If you’re child is not Armenian, they are likely going to get treate...

If you love your child, please don't send them here or any school in GUSD. There is no accountability from teacher's or staff. The focus is exactly what is being said in current board meetings. Classroom environments are now places that children are encouraged to engage in sexual relations and if yo...

Sometimes it’s okay, but most of the teachers are not good teachers. I had two out of seven teachers that I actually liked. Most of my teachers I disliked. Some give unreasonable expectations, or progress way too fast. A lot of the work feels like it’s only there to fill time. Homophobia is really b...
