West End’s Perpich Arts High School is a public, tuition-free school that’s part of the Perpich Center for Arts Education, a campus dedicated to giving students education through the arts. The campus consists of the high school, a library, and an outreach and professional development group. The high school itself is open to eleventh and twelfth graders who must be residents of Minnesota. To be accepted, students must apply when they’re either sophomore or juniors and be prepared to audition for one of the six fields of study they’re interested in: dance, literary arts, media arts, music, theater or visual arts. Enrollment is only open to 310 students a school year, and West End students are able to easily commute to the campus. The campus itself offers a college-like experience, with quads, outdoor picnic areas, a soccer field and of course, ample parking. By offering a unique approach to learning, West End’s Perpich Center for Arts Education is an artistic alternative for students to both learn and dedicate themselves to their creative talents.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I love my school. By being at Perpich, I have learned so much about other people's life styles and I have grown my own so much. there is nowhere I would rather go for a fantastic high school experience.

It was a life-changing experience that prepared me to live on my own and gave me the courage to move halfway across the country for college. The teachers were great, they gave a lot of encouragement, wisdom and emotional support.

Exceptional, I felt supported and loved. Truly the best 2 years of my life. My friendships will last a lifetime (still going strong). The staff is outstanding and are fantastic mentors. 10 years later (time away and what you do with your life matters) I still keep in close contact (I no longer live...

this place is just so much more awful than I thought it'd be; I thought it'd be such a good opportunity for me but if you have any political beliefs other than very liberal, don't go here. Trust me. Don't. You will be bullied, hated, and ostracized. I'm not even conservative I'm centralist???
