East Grand Rapids Middle School is the only middle school in the East Grand Rapids Public School District, serving students in sixth to eighth grades. Located on beautiful Lake Drive, it sits right on the southern shore of Reeds Lake. Students in this highly rated school consistently score above average in state test scores and enjoy a variety of exploratory opportunities.
The goal of Grand Rapids East Middle School is to provide a learning environment based on three key features: respect, responsibility and personal best from every student. In addition to academics, coaches and staff help students to achieve these goals through basketball, football, tennis, cross country and other athletic options. Learners can also explore the sciences, fine arts and other interests through extracurricular activities and clubs.
From elementary school to high school, the East Grand Rapids Public Schools system enrolls about 3,000 students every year. The middle school helps students transition from elementary school to high school by continuing to hone their skills and passions. The school is committed to providing opportunities to improve the development of the whole child.

We moved here in 2014 and our son began middle school that year. He felt welcomed and was able to find academic and social success at such a challenging time. We have found that the school is both academically challenging and great with character building as well. We love the 1 to 1 tech too!
