Grayslake Central High School is a great place to learn without worrying about safety inside or outside of the school. There is always security on hand and watchful, friendly teachers to help out when needed. I have enjoyed my time here. GCHS provides the resources to have a fun high school experience, it's all about what you make of it.

I'm not a sports kid. I like that there are some good clubs and things, but wish there were more teachers that would sponsor activities. I have been in debate and tried being onstage. I wanted to start a D&D club, but we couldn't find a sponsor. I also have a dairy allergy and don't think the school food ever fits my needs so I pack a lunch each day. We all have to deal with things and find our way, right? I do like my teachers & you can tell they care. However, the grading policies are really harsh. I have ADHD and a 504 and its the only reason I can ever get any accommodations. They grade us with 90% summative, so if you mess up on a test it can kill your grade for the semester. I feel like I've learned a lot though and the general environment has always made me feel welcome.

Too many careless teachers. There isn’t enough support and care for the students at GCHS. Followed by years of terrible rules regarding simple inconveniences such as the train running you late. Detentions still existed here before the pandemic. Not sure how it is now, but GCHS is one of the only sur...
