It is a wonderful school with great academics. I have a middle schooler and a high schooler. My kids feel safe and happy . The environment is non judgmental and allows children to grow into themselves with a lot less stress than in most schools. Individuality and critical thinking are highly valued. It is all done in a nurturing environment. Moving to a new town is always difficult, finding this wonderful school has made it almost seamless for my children.

I attended this Oakwood in 2013 for 3 years and this school is not diversified at all. Experienced numerous occasions of racism here from teachers and students.

I see why this is considered the best school in Eastern North Carolina. Academics is far superior and a great community and staff.

We love The Oakwood School. Our son transferred into the school in the 9th grade and was immediately welcomed by the whole community. We went to this school for 2.5 months. We relocated from up north and I would say depending on your experience it is an average school compared to northern state schools. My kids came to Oakwood from an elite private school in another state and they are learning more at Oakwood and are much happier.
