GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I enjoy being at our school a lot. I think that we have a strong community. My grade is amazing. I feel like we all get along so well compared to other schools and other grades. The only downside of my school would be the quality of the buildings. Our school was built in 2002 and hasn't seen an update. It feels a little dark compared to other schools in the district.

Most teachers truly care about their students but the amount of racism, intolerance, and bullying that gets ignored by the administration is ridiculous.

DC-G has four school levels that I have had the pleasure of seeing my four children through over the last two years. The school is excellent due to it's caring staff and great leadership. I would love to see more opportunities for gifted kids in the elementary level as well as a stronger reading pro...

I have on child in the High school now and my eldest child graduated in 2007. We moved from the South Side of Des Moines to get our children in a better environment and Grimes is one of the finest in the area. The athletic programs are great and the facilities are exceptional. The staff in the schoo...
