GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best parts of school was art class because I could relax and make something nice, I was in clay and at first I was bad at and later I started getting good at it and Mr. Ellmore helped me a lot with it, when I was confused what to complete in my vision of the project. During covid because we couldn't go outside we had to do virtual learning and because of this we stopped talking to each other and with clubs during strong hour it help us become more social and find people with the same interests. I never had a bad experience the only thing I would say is that the bathrooms sometimes doesn't have soap to wash our hands and when eating the food the rice is uncooked and I once broke a bracket because of it in middle school.

Southern highschool is a good school, it's a smaller school but with enough resources to go around to all students. Sports here are good and we have almost everything we need. I wish the food here would change for the better.

All 4 of my kids went to Southern High school. Great school & Great teachers. My son was on the track and field team and went to State competition for pole vault his junior year and for 110 meter hurdles his senior year. His coaches were amazing. My daughter was on the cheer squad and loved it, my other son was great at art and loved his art teachers, he now wants to be an art teacher. They all loved the school and their teachers & coaches. I never had any problems communicating with anyone at the school when I had any concerns.

This is a great school that still has a small town feel. The community supports it and the teachers are mostly a part of the community.
