The vision of Hastings High School is to create a world-class learning community. Students achieve excellence through a strong commitment to academics and a broad range of extracurricular clubs, events and teams. Classes in core subjects complement art classes and the Hastings-Kellogg Community College Early College Program. Hastings Saxons compete in 19 different sports as a Division B school in the Michigan High School Athletic Association. The athletic department values physical and athletic skills, but respect and team spirit are even more important. Engaging clubs are available to all students, including drama club, robotics, quiz bowl and ski club. Interested students can also serve on a student council and work toward a better future and positive changes for their classmates. The high school campus is near Sweezy’s Pond Park, offering a scenic spot for after-school activities. Students in the school district interested in an alternative educational environment can enroll in Hastings Virtual Academy. Partnering with Edgenuity, this fully virtual learning experience uses animations, video-led instruction, simulations and more to engage students in a modern environment.

I have gone to Hastings area schools for my whole school career. I have very much enjoyed all of the teachers and feel they have the students best interests at heart. I have been involved with both sports and band and have enjoyed both programs.

I like going to Hastings High School, I haven't faced many problems throughout high school at Hastings but I do know other people that have faced some problems here. Overall, the school is a great place to be.
