GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall the school is good. There is however a big difference between the students in normal classes and students in advanced classes. Since I have taken only IB classes my last two years I have been around the same 15-20 people, so I don't have much to say about the rest of the students. The teachers are good and do try to work with you if you are struggling. The IB and AP classes are also good and you definitely get prepared for college and the future overall.

My experience at West Valley is superb due to seeing the teacher caring and supportive towards students here. I have first-hand experience with staff being supportive in the aspect of my future. I made many memories here at West Valley. This school has many opportunities for minorities and has a pure education. Some changes I would want to see are adding a cooking class and more stem courses.

The staff is mediocre. There are a few great teachers and a few bad teachers, like any school has. I enjoyed the diversity here and getting involved. The school doesn't have a lot of different well represented clubs but they aren't non-existent. Overall, if you get involved in anyway you will learn to love it here.

West Valley High School is not a good school due to many factors such as: not letting students engage in physical activities during lunch break and before school, and not putting more money toward the basketball courts outside (it doesn't cost a lot of money for some nets). I can deep dive into this...

Special ed staff needs more training in my opinion. I am currently not impressed with their special ed staff and looking for another educational alternative for my child. I don't feel good with my daughter at this school so looking for different location.

I am a senior at West Valley, and I have to say, the school is awesome. Many of the teachers are very helpful, there are a few bad eggs though, I will not go into specifics, but one gave me a D-(and an F on a test, which I have never once in my life received) and the other gave me an F, forcing me t...
