GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The teachers really care about the quality of education they deliver and the building of character. Mr. Erdelac is a great principal. The librarian goes above and beyond to provide literacy guides and encouragement.

My daughter went to this school, but we had to leave the school before Christmas last year because of a teacher in 5th grade named Amy Ogrents, who demanded money and jewelry to make my daughter 's grades better.

As a previous student of Johnston, I am not pleased. Shows of favoritism shown by the teacher, principles, and other staff. In all respects, I believe all students, should be taught in an environment balanced. Not whether your the last name of Maxwell,Johnson,or Garica.

Johnston is an awesome school wth wonderful leadership and excellent teachers. That is why it is the number one school in Highland.

I have a student going now and a future one attending soon. Maybe coming from Chicago public schools makes me rate higher but it's a huge difference and I'm happy my kids get to go to this school instead of Chicago or Hammond.
