GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I was bullied A LOT in this district, the only time they did something was when we threatened to go to the police. The teachers and classes were ok but the problem is how they explain and accommodate students. I had undiagnosed ADHD and when I tried to get a 504 plan they just ignored it and never gave an answer on why. The people that bullied me never got punished EVER. Indiana in general sucks, I struggled because of the "no child left behind" law. If a child needs to repeat even if the pass by one point, leave them behind it will benefit them.

My experience at River Forest High School has been amazing. The teachers and faculty are very genuine people who are always available to help. Being a smaller school no one is overlooked and there is a tight knit community here. The best parts are the amazing peers you will meet and continue school with for your next four years. The worst part would be the lack of money to support the school and students. Having better facilities and more class options would help prepare students for college.

Although I feel the education is not as strong as it should be, I enjoyed my experience with RF because we are such a small school, which means it's easier to have one on one help with teachers. Plus everyone knows each other. RF is my home. The food is better but still poor quality.

I would also like to add that half of the reviews here are not even grammatically correct and as a seventh grader at this school I seem to have better grammer than most of the adults who posted comments about this school!

River Forest may not have the best technology department, new resources, or a variety of classes. But, we are a family. A family that looks after each and one another. I feel it is not the schools fault, but our own state funding is the problem. The State of Indiana cuts out millions of dollars from...

This school is not up to par. They offer the opportunity to go to the Career Center but the kids are responsible for their own transportation there and back. That's Crazy! How many 10th graders are driving cars? Why offer it to them if you can't provide transportation? If there are buses for the nor...

This school is a complete laughing stock of the region, almost as bad as Lake Station schools. the quality of education has declined over the years, and the push for students to achieve better opportunities when they graduate is non existent. You would be better off home schooling your children inst...
