Stevens Cooperative School is an independent day school for students in pre-K through eighth grade with three campuses located in Hoboken. Through a unique spirit of community building among the parents and faculty and an emphasis on social-emotional development, students gain a solid foundation of the world around them. Stevens fosters a progressive environment that stresses the importance of inclusion and cooperation and encourages students to inspire and shape the future through the way they learn. As a cooperative school, parents and guardians are integral to their child’s education. This model of support and encouragement helps the child feel confident and motivated through their school journey and allows parents and guardians to better understand the teacher’s style and curriculum. Parents' voices are also incorporated into school-wide decision-making and policy updates, resulting in an increased sense of belonging that translates to greater student well-being and academic success. Before- and after-school care is available for working parents, as well as exciting enrichment and athletics programs, including competitive and intramural sports.

We have been in the school for 6 years now and we could not be any happier. Our daughters have grown so much, not just in the academic aspect, but most important as independent, reflective and assertive individuals who recognize their important role as members of their community.

stevens coop school in hoboken maintains racial quotas that keep minorities ( asians, latinos) under 20% of student demographics, in spite of large applications from minorities. school doesn't reveal the demographics for this reason, and maintains a lip service to inclusivity and diversity. out of touch with the urban area. nearby school (wallace) has 45% diversity and private schools in nearby cities (englewood) have 60% diversity.

My son and my friend's daughter joined Stevens' summer camp! It is wonderful! My son told me that he want to join Stevens' in middle school in 2022!

My son started his elementary school journey with Stevens since Kindergarten. We love it here! The progressive learning methods really helped to boost my son’s passion for learning. Curriculum is well designed. Also they taught kids the skills that will benefit them in a long run (presentation, rese...

We had excellent, great and average teachers through our years at Stevens.Social-emotional aspect is great! I see the progress in my child and I see how much Stevens has done in this area.Academically...

School limits admission of minorities. They extensive admission process weeds out Asians and other minorities. Other private schools in this area like EMS have 70% minorities, while this schools avoids minorities and keeps them below 20%.School doesn’t reveal their demographics for this reason.Don’t...

I could not agree more with earlier reviewer. We are also an ethnic diverse family (mostly Hispanic) and the staff didn’t make us feel welcomed. We also felt discriminated against and to this day (3 years out if the school) I never understood their “progressive” method... there was nothing progressi...
