My experience at Homewood High School was amazing. I am in my last year, and I listen to a lot of my friends from other neighborhoods talk about the activities and things they do at their school, and once I tell them about Homewood High School, they always reply by saying "wow I wish our school did/offered that". I feel I have excelled by attending HHS in all areas. I became a part of different groups while attending HHS. There is not activity/club a student would want to be a part of that HHS does not offer. The faculty, counselor, and principals are all willing to help whenever needed or asked. My best experience was being able to be in the Concert Band and also the Marching Band which I found to be very exciting. I really never had a bad experience at HHS to be honest. I would like for the Homecoming Dance to be held at different locations at least once. :-)

Homewood is all about what tou make it, sometimes you come across teaches who want to see you succeed in more than just their class but in life, you can tell they honestly love their career choice, the teacher who become like a second mom. then you have those teachers who just come from 8-3 if fail they dont care if you pass they dont care "they get paid no matter".

The leadership at the school and in the district lacks structure and any true concern for the students. The assistant administrator for the freshman is a bully and the principal hides in the office. I have had nothing but bad experiences with the teachers and adminsitrators there. I will say that th...

this school is garbage after the rapid decline of leadership in the past 3 years of Barnes' leadership.

This is by far the best school in state. From the elementary school thru high school, this school system emphasizes character development along with education. I am a Homewood graduate that went to Shades Cahaba now my children are going thru the system. What I love the most about it is that any stu...
