The Islamic Academy of Alabama is a private school in Homewood serving preschool through Grade 12. In operation since 1996, currently, there are approximately 250 students enrolled. The mission of this school is to create a safe and positive environment in which students learn Islamic values. The school strives to help each student become respectful and responsible society members and value each others’ differences. According to the school’s website, The Islamic Academy is the top Islamic school in Alabama. There are 70 staff members and volunteers working with students. In addition to core curriculum teachers, the school provides instruction in computer science, the Islamic faith, English as a second language, Arabic and athletics. Advanced placement classes are also offered.
A counselor is on staff to help guide students in course selection, social issues and college preparation. The school reports that 100% of Islamic Academy students are accepted into college. The Islamic Academy of Alabama is fully accredited through Cognia and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools on Accreditation and School Improvement. Students attending Islamic Academy come from diverse ethnicities and cultures, and the school welcomes children from all backgrounds.

Great learning environment. It provides challenges for students. AP classes are provided along with dual enrollment opportunities. Teachers are very cooperative and helpful. Principle and staff are very supportive.

Soccer and clubs are among the extracurricular activities it presents. This school is a private school and keeps excelling in presenting the students attending with more options.
