Combining Jewish tradition with innovative, nurturing classroom experiences, Beth Yeshurun Day School continues its proud heritage as the first Jewish day school in Texas. Founded in 1949 by Rabbi William Malev, Beth Yeshurun welcomes over 300 students each school year.
Based on a foundation of Jewish values, Beth Yeshurun is a safe space for students to build character, confidence and curiosity about the world around them. You will find small class sizes and excellent educators who care about teaching to student needs.
Beth Yeshurun accepts infants starting from three months old, while the elementary program encompasses prekindergarten through fifth grade. Although Jewish studies are fundamental to Beth Yeshurun’s mission, its academics are top-notch.
Beth Yeshurun’s balanced literacy English program prepares students to be strong independent readers, writers and critical thinkers. Its math program, based on how students learn in Singapore, teaches students how equations work. In science, students visit maker labs, with fourth and fifth-grade students completing science fair projects.
There are always enjoyable events going on at Beth Yeshurun. Some examples include activities like rock climbing on the school campus, a second-grade student-led safari and a third-grade field trip to the Health Museum.

Fabulous academics, very nice facilities, very good counselors, and professional/friendly teachers and staff. Only negative would be that boys can have difficulty here, especially if they are very active and physical. There are no male teachers in the school (at least since we've been here in 1st grade). If you do not have a boy who is like this, I guarantee that this school is great. If you do have a boy like this, then the makeup of his class will determine whether or not he will fit in.

Beth Yeshurun Day School is an amazing school and community for my daughter, son, and our family. The teachers care about the students and push the students to discover their potential. The academics and Jewish education are excellent. My kids loving going to school every day.

BYDS has gone above and beyond during Covid times to make sure my children can learn on campus safely. I have been so impressed by the administration and teachers at the school who care deeply about every child and every family. My kids have never had a better year and we are so grateful.

overall, we are thrilled to have both of our boys at BYDS, and the current leadership is very committed to the school's growth and individual learning for all students. we highly recommend it!

The school does not have a good program to foster character development. Problems of kids being mean to each other run rampant and go unchecked. This bodes for a bad school experience for many.
