There’s a lot going on at Carver High School for Applied Tech/Engineering/Arts. The school at 2100 S. Victory Drive offers a magnet program for performing and visual arts and is also part of an innovative open-enrollment high school program that allows students to earn a high school diploma and an associate degree at the same time. Carver Panthers can earn associate degrees or credentials in three Pathways in Technology programs: interior design, mechatronics and land surveying. Mechatronics is a combination of electrical, computer and mechanical engineering used in the automated manufacturing industry. Students in the Pathways program can earn an associate degree at no cost. Free post-secondary education allows students to forget financial constraints and focus entirely on learning. Students also benefit from Carver’s association with college and industry partners, as businesses host students on field trips and lead several week-long hands-on summer programs. Outside the Pathways programs, students enjoy a wealth of extracurricular activities. This is especially true when it comes to the arts-focused activities including choir, mariachi band and dance. As a magnet fine arts school, Carver High School is the last stop on an excellent Acres Homes fine-arts-focused education that began in pre-kindergarten at Reece Academy.

Overall my experience at Carver Magnet High School for Engineering, Applied Technology & The Arts was a good experience. Even though my freshman year started through a screen, my teachers always made an effort to make sure I had what I need and that I was successful. Ever since then up until my senior year, Carver Magnet High School for Engineering, Applied Technology & The Arts has helped me evolve as a person. By connecting to other students like myself I have grown as a person and was able to find myself here.
