I came to Duchesne in 5th grade from a small private school in Sugar Land. It was easy for me to adapt to Duchesne because Duchesne adapted to me from the very beginning. I wanted to come in as a 6th grader and instead of not accepting me, they noticed my birthday and realized I would have been the youngest student in that class anyway. They told me that they still wanted me, just as a 5th grader. Since then, Duchesne has been a 2nd family I never knew I needed. My parents divorced the first year I got to Duchesne and since then, everyone has filled the gaps I needed when it came to family. My teachers and classmates were there for me every step of the way, and they barely even knew me. Now, 8 years later, as I look at universities to attend, the culture and family aspect of a school is vital to me because of Duchesne, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have been a student at Duchesne for the past 6 years and I can confidently say that it has been the best schooling experience that I could ask for. I have grown into a confident young woman and developed lots of knowledge from all of the amazing and generous teachers at my fingertips. Duchesne has never failed to make me feel at home, as I felt welcome by everyone around me as soon as I began there. I can honestly say that Duchesne is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I will forever be grateful for all the wonderful times and opportunities. :)

I came to Duchesne in fifth grade, and I've been here ever since. At first I was weary about attending a private, all-girls, Catholic school, but it has been one of the best decisions of my life. The community is so welcoming, and all the faculty I have interacted with have such a great job teaching me important life skills as well as mold me into becoming the woman I want to be. Duchesne has taught me that an all-girls school experience is not weak, but rather an empowering one.

I attended Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart from Pre-K to 5th grade, and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. The school constantly preached about being "a family," but it felt more like a prison. As a student with a learning disability, instead of receiving support, I was treated lik...

Duchesne is a great place. As a senior, I’ve attended since I was a freshman and I’ve loved it all 4 years. The teachers are very involved with the students and passionate about their subjects. Everyone I met has been lovely, and I’ve made incredible friendships with the most unlikely people. A comm...

The school gives the air of a very stereotypical traditional view of females. From the uniforms (especially the ridiculous frilly pre-K aprons) to the gross white gowns required for graduation....is that to symbolize purity like a lady should be???? I get traditions but get with the times and stop d...

There has been a significant decline in the quality of the school for many years. This year is definitely the worst. The interim lower school director is poorly qualified for both of her positions, is unethical in performing multiple roles with conflicting goals and does not value parent or communit...
