With almost 4,300 students, the massive Elsik High School is like its own ecosystem. If you like aquatic ecosystems, there’s even a natatorium on the campus. Most of Elsik’s action takes place at its ninth through twelfth grade campus at 12601 High Star Drive, but there’s also a ninth-grade center at 6767 Dairy Ashford Road. Headquartered at both Elsik campuses is the Alief International Academy. Although most Alief students are assigned to their high school by a computerized lottery, admittance to the International Academy guarantees you'll go to Elsik. This school-within-a-school aims to develop multilingual, globally competent, college- and career-ready citizens. International Academy students are expected to study two languages and learn to think critically about challenging global issues. International Academy students also participate in regular classes and extracurricular activities including athletics, if they choose to do so. The Mighty Rams football and basketball teams are well-known in Houston and throughout Texas. Another option open to Elsik students is top-of-the-line career and vocational training. After taking introductory classes, students spend part of their day at Alief’s career center to complete certifications and earn college credit. Fields of study include automotive technology, culinary arts, health and veterinary science, robotics and welding.

The best experiences are when big events in the school are fun and anyone can join, but the worst experiences are mostly about safety. Most students joke around about it by pulling the fire alarms or other actions such as fights.

It's a good school to be in besides all the tension the students get into each other. Other than that it's an enjoyable school.

My time at Elsik High School has been quite the time. The school never seems to improve on any of its issues. The competition for academic prowess isn't there and nor is that same need truly met in sports. The school has minimal clubs and classes are overfilled or just ridden off due to lack of finances.

During my years of being a student I would honestly say Elsik was one of THE WORST school experiences of my entire life, the assistant principals and staff were extremely rude and left me emotionally traumatized however, some of the teachers are very kind and patient to students.

The In my short lifetime of 15 years, I have never been so disappointed in a school, like this takes the cake and then some like. You don't ever want to visit it. The football team is the worst one in history as far as know so very other sport excluding soccer, but this is America one watch soccer....

I have had a wonderful experience at Elsik High School. I'm very proud that my daughter is a mighty Ram! I am very pleased with the staff and the numerous extra-curricular programs available to the students. Students who choose to be successful here, will be successful!
