Like its neighboring sister school, Elsik High School, the first thing most notice about Hastings High is its impressive size. It shares a mammoth football stadium with Elsik and educates around 4,000 students. Most ninth-grade students attend Hastings’ ninth-grade center at 6750 Cook Rd. while the remaining pupils take classes at the main building at 4410 Cook Rd. When it comes to workforce readiness, Hastings students are climbing to the top. One avenue of workforce readiness is the dual-track Life Sciences Innovative Academy housed at both Hastings campuses. The Alief school district operates the academy in partnership with the Houston Community College. Academy students can earn an associate degree in construction management or certification as a pharmacy technician. Students can also choose other career and technical programs. After taking introductory classes at Hastings, students travel to the Alief Center for Advanced Careers to complete multi-credit courses. Offerings include electrical technology, sports medicine, patient care technician and culinary arts. If you pop by the career center during the school day, you can enjoy lunch at the cafe while your dog gets groomed.

I'm a senior in Hastings high School and being on the school is the most fun thing I've ever had, u can learn a lot of stuff and be on different sports, every event is extraordinary and u can share it with ur friends or family. The most fun thing I did was getting in a ceramic class, because I can show how I feel in the class by making my projects. My teachers are really good at showing what we need, thanks to them I have all A's, and because of my classes that involve stuff I can have a lot of fun, going on field trips, and having events. They aren't the most expensive or extravagant but I can have fun with my friends and share the great memory. the food...well what can I say, sometimes the food is the best but not always unfortunately, but they have different options of food, like salad or something else, and if u have allergies or something like that, they give u a custom meal. There isn't something I don't like about my school, I'm glad I can live this experience by myself. Thanks

My time at Hastings High School has been mostly positive. I've enjoyed creative classes like Art and Ceramics, which allow me to express myself. However, I'd love to see a wider variety of electives and more career-focused options for students with specific goals. Overall, it's been a solid experience with room for growth in course selection.

As a high school junior at Hastings High School, I've experienced a lumpsome amount. When it comes to fights, breaches of safety, and financiers of our school, it has shaped my experience at hastings. I can say that my experience at Hastings has its ups and downs.

During this month Ive sent my child three times to request a night school application. They always tells him that his counselor or AP is not in the office. Today I called to make sure he was telling me the truth and the lady who answered the phone told me that they were not there which means that th...
