GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I think HSLJ is a great school if you really plan on pursuing military or police force because they do have great programs that prepare you for it. But the sports are not broad neither are the club options. The academics are pretty good but if they had dual enrollment it would be great and more variety on AP classes.

HSLJ is a cool school it allowed me to learn and grow as a person and with its diversity it made me feel welcomed. There's also the fact that the school also offers programs that'll help you if you plan on doing anything las related so that's cool. The teachers were also very helpful and they won't make you feel bad for asking questions and in fact encourage for you to ask questions when you need help.

As someone that wants to become a prosecutor or Judge I think my school is the best way to get started towards that path. We have many classes that helps us understand law, our school has a mock court room in order for the student to learn how the process of a court is. The only thing I would change would be adding sports to our school not everything has to do with studying we also need a little distraction in order to motivate us .

The school is in freefall. The Principal is a disaster and spends her time running off good teachers to hire inexperienced ones that cost less. The state TEIS report shows the change in the teacher experience. This has led to horrible teacher morale.

The reviews posted here are from another time and place. LECJ's decline and fall began in 2005. Alumni would be saddened to find out what has happened since the regime change. Faculty morale is at an all time low, teacher turnover is becoming commonplace and absenteeism is high due to the poor leade...
