Founded in 1956 and administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, St. Pius the Tenth High School is a co-ed school with 548 students. Known informally as St. Pius or SPX, the school prides itself on educating the whole student—physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Spiritual growth is the cornerstone of a St. Pius education. The school day begins and ends in prayer, and students are strongly encouraged to serve others. The school offers a rich, rigorous academic program. Boasting a 100% graduation rate, the vast majority of students are accepted into their first-choice college. St. Pius is also renowned for its fine arts and athletics programs. Award-winning arts activities include Color Guard, orchestra, photography and theater. This highly regarded institution also offers quite a wide selection of athletics, as St. Pius takes its sports seriously and has a long history of winning championships. The school's football stadium is named after alumnus Gary Kubiak, who quarterbacked the team for three consecutive state championships. In addition to football, Panthers can play baseball, basketball, football, rugby, soccer, tennis, volleyball, golf and lacrosse. From stellar academics to solid sports teams, St. Pius High School has a lot going for it!

I'm a parent of twins that attended from 2015-2019. They have a wonderful Learning center for kids with all disabilities. There are AP, college readiness courses and Dual credit too. Plenty of sports to choose from, great theater department, small class sizes, and set times to meet with teachers for extra help.

St Pius X is an excellent Catholic high school. The staff and student body is not as diverse as in other high school but the rigourous academics and extracurricular activities are amazing. This is a family environment with a lot of parent engagement. St Pius X Catholic High School definitely prepares scholars for college and beyond.

St Pius is a good school. Mostly everyone gets along and you never hear about anything crazy happening.

Too small. High teacher turnover. Not diverse.

I went to school here after transferring from Houston Christian High school and it made all of the difference. They enforce rules but have freedoms, they let you be who you want to be, and I was definitely prepared for college. Worlds away from Houston Christian High school.
