Known for its academics, fine arts and athletics offerings, Strake Jesuit College Preparatory on Bellaire Boulevard is home to more than 1,200 Crusaders. Named in honor of oil tycoon George Strake, the all-boys school was founded in 1960 on Houston’s then undeveloped west side.
Throughout its history, Strake has been an athletic powerhouse. Strake brings home championships in baseball, lacrosse, swimming, diving, ice hockey, soccer, water polo and wrestling as one of only two private schools in Texas that compete in the University Interscholastic League.
With 75 clubs, Strake has extracurricular offerings for every student. It also has a powerful fine arts emphasis. The school has a full-time curator for its art collection, and the city of Houston has classified the campus as an art museum.
Another unique opportunity Strake Jesuit provides its summer internship program. Offered in various fields through Strake’s extensive alumni network, internships allow students to gain hands-on experience in careers that interest them.
Academically, the school provides a rigorous curriculum while embracing Jesuit ideals of preparing each young man to “become the man that God has called him to be.”

Strake Jesuit College Preparatory has been an excellent experience improving my academic ability and social development. The atmosphere is full of positivity and open-mindedness. The extracurricular activities have been some of the best times I've had here at Strake. The Sports and Club Teams I've been apart of are fun and safe environments created by the students themselves. The one thing I think the school could improve on would be the faculty involvement. I think the faculty could do more to help their students.

The community is amazing. The teachers work at their most to help you learn your best. The buildings are great. The academics are difficult but it preps you for college.
