YES Prep Public Schools is a network of public charter schools in the Greater Houston area that offer open enrollment. YES, which stands for Youth Engaged in Service, provides a core curriculum for younger students and a college-preparatory program for higher grades. The schools in this network are tuition-free and have no admission requirements, bringing in many applications each year. The school may use a lottery system if applications exceed allowed admittance, but it often still has openings in the summer for the upcoming school year.
There are 25 YES Prep schools in the greater Houston area. YES Prep West Secondary opened in the Chinatown neighborhood on Harwin Drive in 2009. Home of the Marvels, the school serves students in grades six through 12. Consistent, above-average test scores and graduation rates have earned YES Prep schools multiple awards, including the College Success Award. Most of the school’s students successfully graduate each year, and of the students that pursue post-secondary education, over half become first-generation college attendees.

I have had a great experience in my school and have grown love for it because I have been in this school for 6 years. I grew up here and some teachers have seen develop into the young adult I am. I'm excited to graduate and end my long and good journey here and continue a new one.

I haven't been in this school for long. Only maybe- 2 years. In my time I can proudly say that due to the school requiring you to take AP classes, I believe it would be great if you want to seem more desirable to colleges.

YES Prep- West is a good school, They provided many AP Classes starting your freshman year. The teachers help the students when they are lost or confused on the subject that is being taught.

I worked here for two years and it was a wonderful experience! The students really are taken care of and put first in terms of academic and personal growth. The teachers are dedicated and the administration is constantly working on improving the school for both staff and students.

These five stars are for ALL the wonderful teachers, staff, and of course the principle (Ms. Fritz). I have three children in the school and one will be entering for next year. I like this school because they focus 100% on education and they make sure they do whatever it takes to help there students...

I've been going to YES West for almost 2 years now. West is a great school, it have challenging but fun classes, caring teachers, and friendly students. I would really recommend this school to others.
