GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The biggest problem with Huntsville High School is the issue surrounding the Department of Justice Investigation. Due to this investigation and the constant inquiries and other investigations that accompany it, the facilities at HHS are truly sub-standard. No funding is available to make any improvements or attempt new construction.

This school has giving me an accelerated self confidence that forced me out of my box. The staff is amazing. I just wished we had more in class/in school guidance time for filling out college applications.

HHS is a good high school with many opportunities to learn outside of the traditional academic classes. For example, they offer pathways in cyber security, engineering, finance, health science, business and many others. You can also dual enroll with multiple colleges to get a head start on post high school studies. Many of my teachers were helpful and supportive.

My kids are currently at HHS. I heard about the toilet incident someone else mentioned. I personally feel a 90 day suspension for teens being dumb in a bathroom is reasonable. Likewise, I have had zero issues with administration being up front or working with my students. I have one child dealing wi...
