The Chapelwood Elementary School serves the west side of Indianapolis with a public education for kindergarten through sixth grades. Enrolling over 800 students, Chapelwood Elementary School lives by the motto: “Every Child, Every Day, Achieving Success in Every Way.” Setting rigorous academic standards that encourage students to reach challenging goals, the Chapelwood Elementary School has been a part of the Chapel Hill-Ben Davis community for almost 60 years. Funding 7 million dollars of renovations in 2007, Chapelwood Elementary added four classrooms and a new cafeteria to its media center, art and music rooms, gymnasium and technology lab. Today, students at the Chapelwood Elementary School are taught to respect others and value honesty, positivity, perseverance, personal responsibility and self-discipline as part of the school's "Chapelwood Champs Creed." The Indiana Department of Education gave Chapelwood Elementary an “A” rating for superior school performance. Chapelwood Elementary School's other recognitions include: the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, a National Award for Drug Free Schools and the Gleaners Backsack Weekend Meals Program. The students of Chapelwood Elementary have been Honor Roll members and past recipients of the President's Award for Educational Excellence. At Chapelwood Elementary School, students are inspired to grow and celebrate their potential.

Teachers are all fresh out of high school it seems like.. No one communicates if your child is struggling etc .. You don’t know until you see the bad grade.. you don’t see graded papers or anything. I feel as the staff needs more diversity. More understanding. I think they nit pick with the students too much. My kids we're at North Wayne since kindergarten and never had these issues.
