Kinwest Montessori Academy is a private school that caters to children from 12 months to nine years old in prekindergarten through fourth grade. The school features a strong concentration in math, language, art, music, world cultures and social development, following Dr. Maria Montessori’s principles and philosophies in inspiring a passion for excellence, curiosity, creativity and imagination. Students are exposed to multiple languages, like Spanish and Mandarin, from a young age. In its toddler program, the school emphasizes fine motor skills and social development. Kinwest’s primary program provides children up to five years old with instruction based on the individual student’s development, including several one-on-one sessions with teachers. Elementary levels, which start at age five, place greater emphasis on writing and math concepts in preparing the children to attend public, private or charter schools. Its Chess Program for children in kindergarten and above aims to develop students’ problem-solving skills, focus and logical thinking. The school’s facility includes an indoor gym, computer lab, library and music room, covered play areas and a greenhouse where children learn valuable information about plants and the ecosystem. Kinwest Montessori Academy has an admissions process for acceptance and enrollment and offers a variety of tuition and attendance schedules, including full-day, school day and half-day options.
