Sandalwood is home to the Al-Furqan Academy (AFA). Established in 1997 by members of the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida, the school has grown to more than 200 students. Serving students from pre-K through 12th grade, it enjoys a low student-to-teacher ratio of 13 to one. The student body is made up of a diverse population from throughout Jacksonville with different ethnic backgrounds. The school follows the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. In addition to Islamic studies, the AFA teaches all core subjects including math, language arts, science, social studies and enrichment courses in art and physical education. Students can participate in a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities. AFA is a private, non-profit, school that is registered with the Florida Department of Education and is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools, the Council of Islamic Schools in North America and AdvanceED. AFA is also accredited by Cognia, a global non-profit improvement organization that identifies schools and systems that best exemplify excellence in education based on the results of a rigorous accreditation process. Students may be eligible to participate in the Step Up For Students program, which provides scholarships for students to attend a private school.

Pretty bad, I know most of us bring our kids because of their Islamic education but I do recommend their Sunday school for Islamic education but never destroy your kids future here by enrolling them in school.
