GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I Enjoyed going to Jim Thorpe my entire life. They always made sure everyone had a place and the security was extremely good. I always knew if something happened we were safe. They gave us proper protection and boundaries for events that could happen. They were extremely mental health ridden and made that one of their top priorities. Sports were extremely big and we had very good players on all the teams.

School is nestled in a nice area. Small enough that most teachers are on top of their kids and are aware when they are falling behind. Administration is caring and does try their best to make sure your kid moves ahead with graduation.

Jim Thorpe area schools are great. From teacher to student ratio to their academics. I am a student athlete and was provided as much help if there was anything I didn't understand. I will definitely be willing to send my future kids here, if I stay in the area.

I had one child attend and graduate from Jim Thorpe School district from K-12. My youngest started in Kindergarten and going into 9th grade this year. I have never had any issues with the education programs, teachers, or facility. The teachers genuinely care about their students and go above and bey...

I stayed in this school district less than 6 months and moved because of the school district. They have a horrible system in place for children with an IEP. The school is very militant and not very warm.

Guidance does not schedule you in classes that are graduation requirements the first time around. If you want a good class you must actually know or be relatives or friends with them. The dress code applies only to normal kids does not apply to athletes or favorite students. The lunches are not fres...

As someone who attended the Jim Thorpe Area School District since I moved here in grade 4, I have to say that through the years, this district has been slowly deteriorating and it's very sad to see. My very first year in the high school (2008-2009) was fantastic. I truly enjoyed going to school ever...
