GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I would like to see the teachers at Kankakee High School to actually care for their students and not just assign work and build on students stress. I also would like the administration to worry more about the safety of students at school rather than all the unnecessary other things they do.

My overall experience was somewhat of a roller coaster ride. Starting my freshman year of high school during the Covid-19 season led to me , classmates , teachers , and the school as a whole to grow as one. Even though my school wasn't perfect, I enjoyed every moment whether it was during class or some fun activity. Even with the continuous change of faculty, each one showed the importance in our students. Helping us get to where we need to be. Personally I feel I didn't do the best I could on my own accord. I did the best I could with the help of my school. Hopefully students who are attending Kankakee High School use what is offered and will be the best they can be.

I am glad to be completing my senior year of high school and looking forward to continuing my education. My experience at Kankakeee High School had its challenges. The CBE curriculum was a great assets to students that had good grades and scored low on an assignment and the chance to resubmit assignments to improve their grade. I feel like CBE wasn't not god for students who struggled in school because it made lazy students more lazy. Purposely not turning assignments in on time because they know they have many opportunities to turn the assignment in. I didn't feel motivated in high school. The politics and favoritism made it hard to a great high school experience. Don't get me wrong I had good days and bad days but my over experience at Kankakee High school was just okay. I'd like to see the curriculum change and go back to standard grading. I like to see student moral increase. I like to see there be a controlled structure at Kankakee High School.

This school sucks all of our good teachers are leaving. The two deans who are really good left and one of the best assistant principals left too. The principal and the other assistant principal are not that good. They don't know us students and they can't relate to us. It's like all the people that...

I moved to Kankakee to take care of my grandma who was 90 at the time. I graduated in 2013 but let me tell you it was bad: there was roaches in the lockers and hallways (one time in the classroom), fights in the hallways, and some teachers who didn't care about the students at all. It was worse for...

I have many relatives that have successfully graduated from this school. The parents or students who don't agree with this school are either non-involved in school activities or they just believe anything there children say. KHS is a marvelous school. If your student cares about his/her education an...
