Our Lady of Unity is a private Catholic school located in the southern section of Argentine near Matney Park. The school believes that the choices students make today affect their lives tomorrow and beyond. The school's mission is to provide each student with a “strong foundation of faith in God, critical thinking skills, and academic excellence.” Our Lady of Unity aims to nurture each student and provide a safe, Christ-centered atmosphere that celebrates all students. The goal is to propel students into a life of learning and discipleship. The school serves kindergarten through eighth grade students. It is part of the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kan., which has a curriculum based on the Catholic worldview. All core subjects include contributions from Catholic scholarship — faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation for every subject. The curriculum includes 21st-century subjects such as media, information and technology skills. Additionally, students can participate in drama, art, music and sports. The school is part of the Catholic Education Foundation, which offers scholarships for students that would normally be financially unable to attend a Catholic school. Roughly 99% of families at Our Lady of Unity qualify for a scholarship.
