Fulton High School students work within Small Learning Communities (SLC) that engage students in fulfilling their education goals. This personalized learning experience connects them inside and outside classroom life. Five SLCs function as independent school units, each with its own administrator, counselor, academic advocate, and teacher dean. A team of teachers work with the same group of students. This lets the staff and students form connections together during the high school years leading to successful learning to develop graduates ready for college and career. During the Sophomore year, students look into college and career options through Career Technical Education courses. They choose one of the three SLCs for their last two years that are based on a specific course of study. They can enter the School of Skilled Professions, School of Health Science or the School of Communications. The School of Communications is a Magnet School for Knox County. In partnership with Ford Next Generation Learning, Knoxville County Schools developed a plan in 2021 to give their students enhanced college and career preparation focused on life after graduation. This strategy, known as 865 Academies, will allow students to: participate in work-based learning; go on job shadows and other career exploration activities; work with professionals in their field of interest; and connect classroom knowledge with workplace success. Career-themed academies in the high school lead students along specific career pathways. The courses will include learning with business and postsecondary partners at school and also send students out to campuses and workplaces to explore what they are learning in the real world. Fulton High School also offers athletic opportunities that provide social events for students and prepare them to join college teams. Participation includes year-round activity in sports such as track and field, football, tennis, baseball, basketball, and volleyball. Two of their football alumni have gone on to NFL careers. School clubs also offer students social and educational enhancement in areas of interest including art, photography, literature, yoga, yearbook and international interest.

I loved my teachers, as well as the community and support the school offered. Additionally, I was offered many opportunities involving networking at that school. The diversity of the school overall is pretty even between hispanic, african americans, and white.

Overall the school was pretty decent for the most part. There are some teachers there that genuinely care about their students and want them to succeed.

Fulton has very caring staff but sometimes they were more focused on dress code than students grades.

Be wary of overly negative reviews - people like to criticize. I love this school. My siblings and I all graduated from FHS and went on to receive undergrad and post graduate degrees with honors. Fulton is a special place with a faculty and staff who truly care for their students.

They do not care about your kids, the district really needs to replace the staff with someone who actually cares for kids instead of joining in the childish bullying that they allow here.

The only children safe in this school are the bullies.

locks kids in room with police when they don’t get what they want and doesn’t let your child stick up for themselves
