With 1,200 students in grades, Hardin Valley Elementary—home of the Hawks—serves a diverse community at its campus on Hardin Valley Road in Knoxville, Tenn. HVES is one of the top-ranked elementary schools in the district. All students benefit from a comprehensive education that includes a rotating schedule of encore classes where students can participate in STEAM, music, art, technology, PE, and library activities. There is a robust PTO that supports HVES through organizing fundraisers, teacher appreciation meals, student activities, and the annual hoe-down each October. HVES students have the chance to participate in school-sponsored clubs such as robotics and safety patrol. Hardin Valley Elementary School students who live more than a mile away from the school are eligible to ride the bus to and from school each day. Students living within a one-mile radius are considered part of the parental responsibility zone and do not qualify for transportation services. With the top-notch education at HVES, the littlest of the Hardin Valley hawks are ready to move on to Hardin Valley Middle School after they complete fifth grade.

We moved to Hardin Valley from Georgia a few years ago. We were so unhappy with our child's last elementary school. Do to there lack of caring and teaching our child was behind. After just spending two school years at HVE she has caught back up and now loves learning. The staff is amazing and is always there to listen to any questions or concerns you may have. We love Dr. Poe and the amazing school she runs. Moving to Hardin Valley was the best decision we have ever made.
